Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital has as one of its core mandates as a teaching hospital; to conduct research.

Key Functions

The Research and Development unit was set up in 2006, its mandate is to:

1.Develop and sustain the research capacity of the hospital.

2.Coordinate and monitor research activities going on in the hospital.

3.Provide evidence based knowledge that will contribute to the improvement of clinical and non-
clinical services in KATH.

4.Promote critical review and publication of research work.

5.Attract research local and international partnerships/collaboration to KATH.

Activities

1.Promoting Operational Research (OR) in KATH

2.Development and sustenance of KATH's research capacity (including the professional Diploma in Project Design and Management - DPDM)

3.Streamlining research in KATH
